Training
I was placed at the Child & Family Unit of Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital for the first rotation of my internship. During this time, I worked with children and adolescence, addressing problems such as bullying, depression, learning difficulties, and various other social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I was placed at the Johannesburg Metropolitan Clinics for my second rotation, where I worked with a diverse population with a variety of psychological concerns, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic symptoms and personality disorders. I worked therapeutically to assist patients in processing traumatic experiences and understanding the impact these traumatic experiences had on their mental, emotional and physical well-being.
I completed my community service at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital Adult Psychology Department. I worked therapeutically to diagnose and treat a broad array of psychological disorders for, both, in-patients and out-patients. I conducted group therapy sessions for patients in the psychiatric ward, as well as supportive group therapy sessions for family members patients diagnosed with psychological disorders.
Upon completion of community service, I started my private practice in Craighall Park, Johannesburg.
